Welcome to Coastal Vibes

This is the home of Coastal Vibes Interaction Design and the experimental design space of Dave Greig. I am a Victoria BC based web and graphic designer and programmer. I specialize in creating dynamic data-driven web sites and web applications, as well as graphic design and small business database applications.

I am happy to give quotes and discuss projects and can be reached at davegreig78 at gmail dot com, or by phone at 250 896 1978.

Websites
Please check out some of my recent web work here:
  • The Carrot Seed Preschool web site
Web site for the Carrot Seed Preschool. This project included the creation of an administration panel to allow the school to update content on the site, as well as the implementation of a photo gallery.

  • My Photo Gallery
Click here to see my Photo Gallery and another example of the types of photo galleries I can build for clients.

Ms Access

Recently I have developed several complex Computer Aided Telephone Interview tools for the British Colombia Cancer Research Center. These MS Access database tools are used during research studies to collect information from subjects, as well as storing and reporting on study data. I am a skilled MS Access developer and can develop solutions for most business needs. If you are interested in my database application development services and would like to see some examples of my previous work please contact me using the information to the left.

School Stuff

I am also a University of Victoria graduate holding a BSc with a combined major in Health Information Science and Computer Science.

You can see some of my school projects and other fun stuff here:
  • schoolWiki is a Wiki page that some friends and I used to use to share notes and coordinate group work for our courses.

  • Knee Tracker prototype
The Knee Tracker is a project for my HINF 450 class was to produce a partly functioning mock up of a web portal for people who have knee injuries. Only parts of the site work, but you can log in to the site as either a physician or a patient (use any name and password, it doesn't matter) and play around.

  • The Draftulator Hockey pool drafting prototype. This is a little application I made so that my friends and I could draft players for our Hockey pool. It is pretty ugly looking but it works well. I have set it up so that it can be played with so feel free to check it out and mess around.

  • SpyTracker
    SpyTracker
is an informational site about an application I wrote for my Data Mining class (SENG 474). It is a small site that has a really clean look and an interesting color scheme.

  • ORS RSS News Feed Generator is a PHP based RSS news feed generator that I created as a demo for the UVic Office of Research Services. It is still a little unpolished, but it works.

This space will be changing often so check back soon.
